Alan Souza

AllanSince 2017 I am working at the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Ceske Budejovice (Czech Republic), where I am investigating the effects of climate change on freshwater fish populations using fish otolith chronologies and ecological modelling approaches. Before coming to Czech Republic I work as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of the Azores (Azores, Portugal), where I was responsible to develop a novel metric to evaluate the water quality of Azorean lakes and streams using data on macroinvertebrates. During my PhD at Porto (Portugal) I was studying the population dynamics of fishes and invertebrates in estuarine systems, biological invasions and simulating the effects of climate change on their populations. I did my Master in Northeastern Brazil, where I was focused on the behavioral ecology of coral reef fishes.
